Founded in 1845, Trinity is located in one of the older settlements of Allegheny County and still bears the word “German” in its Charter name as well as on the inscription on the front of its church building. The church was born when the Reverend Michael Schweigert sought out area Lutherans and organized them into a congregation. The treasurer’s report of 1901 showed an expenditure of $3 to repair the stable in which the horses were kept during services.
The historic brick church stands as a symbol of strength and conviction of the faith of past and present members. Members today cherish their historic and religious traditions of spreading the good news of Christ and reaching out to the community in love.

Meet the Staff
Rev. Larry Kemp
Pastor
Pastor Kemp was called to Trinity in May 2023 and brings 25+ years of ordained ministry experience to us. He has served congregations in the tri-county area including two inner-city calls. He brings leadership in serving congregations with unique transitional concerns. He has learned through the years that when we are faithful in the things of God and tend to the needs of people, many of our concerns and hopes in life of the Church are addressed.
Amanda Gentzel
Organist
Amanda is our most recent new hire, officially joining Trinity’s staff in April 2024 after serving as our interim organist.
Linda Slatt
Office Administrator
A native of Wexford, Linda has 30+ years of office administration experience and helps keep connections and communications running smoothly between members, church leadership and the local faith community. Linda serves as a main hub for many of the ministries of Trinity and enjoys the interaction with members of all ages.
We’re a member of the Southwestern Synod of Pennsylvania in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
